About

The observation that “common sense ain’t that common” meant that we needed another term for what we should intuitively understand but rarely do. Thus was born the term Practical-brilliance. This blog then, is a chronicle of what I feel is obvious and common in its truth. With a focus on business.

You can’t teach people when they are winning

Why I may have a useful perspective. To understand how not to sink a large ship you study the Titanic, not the Queen Mary. I have worked in several businesses that failed; from multinational giants to small new business. I have also consulted for great companies that could not get the last ten yards. Not because they did not have the talent; they just needed the right play. Often it is not what you say but who is listening.
